The things worth knowing before you send a reference image
How does custom designing work at Design Matinee?
Send your inspiration on WhatsApp, whether that is a Pinterest save, an Instagram post, a photograph or a rough sketch. Ojasvi reviews it with you in a personal styling session, advising on the silhouette, cut and fabric that suit your body shape. Your measurements are taken or reviewed, and the piece is then cut and tailored for you.
What is the turnaround time for a custom lehenga or gown?
Five to six business days for most custom outfits, ready for final fitting. Most tailors take fifteen to twenty.
Can you make an outfit from a photograph of someone else wearing it?
Yes, and it is most of what we do. Send the image on WhatsApp. We recreate the design in your measurements, and Ojasvi will tell you honestly where a silhouette needs adapting to work on your body rather than the one in the picture.
What does a custom outfit cost?
Pricing depends on the fabric, the handwork and the silhouette, so it is quoted in conversation rather than listed. Send your reference image and we will give you a figure before anything is cut.
I do not live in Meerut. Can I still order?
Yes. We ship across India and internationally, including the Gulf and Western markets. For remote clients your stylist walks you through an eighteen-point measurement guide over a call, so the fitting does not rest on you guessing.
Can a custom piece be returned or exchanged?
No. A piece cut to your own measurements cannot be cancelled, returned or exchanged, which is why the measurement review and the styling conversation happen before anything is cut. Ready-made pieces follow the terms on our returns and exchange page.
Do you take bridal commissions with a fixed wedding date?
Yes. Tell us the date when you first message, not at the end. The five to six day turnaround is comfortable for most commissions, but a bridal piece with heavy handwork deserves more room, and we would rather plan the calendar with you than rush the work.
What if the finished piece does not fit?
Alterations on a piece we made are handled at the studio. The eighteen-point measurement review exists to make that rare rather than routine.
Can I see the fabric before you begin?
Yes. At the studio you can handle the fabrics directly. Remotely we send photographs and video of the options, and nothing is cut until you have chosen.
